Off-site Parking at the QEII

Parking is exclusively available to QEII staff for $8 per day on a first-come, first-served basis at two locations:

  • Garrison Grounds Parking Lot (230 spots)

  • College Street Lot (170 spots)
     

Garrison Grounds Parking Lot

The Garrison Grounds lot has 230 spots available and is located at the corner of Ahern Avenue and Bell Road. This lot is about a six-minute walk (500 meters) to the Halifax Infirmary’s Summer Street entrance.

College Street Parking lot

The College Street Parking lot has 170 spots available and is located at the corner of College St. and Summer St. This lot is a one-eight-minute walk to various buildings on the Victoria General site.

Staff Shuttle Information

A complimentary shuttle is available to transport staff to and from the Garrison Grounds parking lot to the Halifax Infirmary and Victoria General sites Monday through Friday except for Holidays when staff parking is available onsite.

Pick-up/Drop-off locations: 

  • Garrison Grounds parking lot shelter 

  • Halifax Infirmary Summer Street entrance 

  • Victoria General MacKenzie Building Entrance

Shuttle Schedule (Monday to Friday)

  • Morning shuttle service runs 5:30  – 10:00 a.m. from Garrison Grounds in 15-minute intervals

  • Driver break (service suspended) from 10:00 -10:30 a.m.

  • Service 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. will operate on demand from the Garrison Grounds

  • Afternoon shuttle service will run from 1:00  – 5:00 p.m. from the Summer Street entrance of the HI and University Avenue at the VG, returning to Garrison Grounds in 20-minute intervals

  • Driver break (service suspended) from 5:00 - 5:30 p.m.

  • Service 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. will operate as passengers arrive at the HI (on Summer Street).

Health Services Managers can provide a taxi chit to commute from your site to Garrison Grounds for those who work shifts that exceed the shuttle times.

​Summer Street Parkade 

  • The parkade is available for staff parking during non-peak hours (2:30 pm - 8:30 am) Monday through Friday and all evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

  • Carpooling: The parkade has 100 spots available Monday through Friday for staff who carpool to work and arrive before 8:30 a.m. at a discounted rate of $10 per vehicle. There must be a minimum of two staff per vehicle, and NS Health IDs are required.
