Off-site Parking at the QEII

FREE parking is exclusively available to QEII staff on a first-come, first-served basis at two off-site parking lots:​

  • Garrison Grounds Parking Lot has 230 spots available and is located at the corner of Ahern Avenue and Bell Road available to staff Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

  • ​College Street Parking Lot has 170 spots available and is located at the corner of College St. and Summer St available 24/7.

  • South Street Lot: The South Street lot is located at 5846 South Street and has 250 spots available for NSH & IWK staff on a first-come, first-served basis 24/7.

Extended Evening Parking Hours at Garrison Grounds: 25 additional parking spaces are now available at Garrison Grounds from 7:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Please register your license plate on the tablet at the Halifax Infirmary patient and visitor parking registration desk to avoid receiving a ticket. The tablet is available from 6:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and the nearest entrance is off Summer Street.  

Shuttle Information

The QEII Health Sciences Centre Free Shuttle provides free shuttle service to the Garrison Grounds Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., averaging every 10-20 minutes (may vary due to traffic, weather, construction, emergency patient transport, or other operational requirements).

Note: The shuttle bus is not wheelchair accessible.

Pick-up and Drop-off Locations:

Halifax Infirmary

  • Abbie J. Lane Main Entrance serves as the main pick-up/drop-off spot for the HI, Monday–Friday from 5:30 am - 4:30 p.m.

  • The pick-up/drop-off spot switches to the transfer door beside the Underground Parkade from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 am, Monday–Friday, weekends and holidays.

  • Summer Street Main Entrance serves as a pick-up/drop-off spot only for the Garrison Grounds route, Monday–Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m., and the shuttle does not wait at this location. 

 

Victoria General

  • MacKenzie Building (front entrance) on University Ave (24/7)

 

Garrison Grounds

  • Designated shuttle stop (Monday–Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.)​​​​​
