Off-site Parking at the QEII

FREE parking is exclusively available to QEII staff on a first-come, first-served basis at two off-site parking lots:​

​

  • Garrison Grounds Parking Lot has 230 spots available and is located at the corner of Ahern Avenue and Bell Road available to staff Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

  • ​College Street Parking Lot has 170 spots available and is located at the corner of College St. and Summer St available 24/7.

  • South Street Lot: The South Street lot is located at 5846 South Street and has 250 spots available for NSH & IWK staff on a first-come, first-served basis 24/7.

Extended Evening Parking Hours at Garrison Grounds: 25 additional parking spaces are now available at Garrison Grounds from 7:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Please register your license plate on the tablet at the Halifax Infirmary patient and visitor parking registration desk to avoid receiving a ticket. The tablet is available from 6:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and the nearest entrance is off Summer Street.  

Shuttle Information

The Halifax Infirmary–Victoria General (HI–VG) shuttle route has been expanded to include Garrison Grounds as an additional stop Monday through Friday between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. To maintain the continuous loop and support the additional stop, Summer Street will serve as a pickup/drop-off location only. The shuttle will not wait at this location and will continue to the Abbie J. Lane (AJL) to pick up passengers and transport supplies between the Halifax Infirmary and Victoria General until 4:30 p.m. After 4:30 p.m., all Halifax Infirmary pickups and drop-offs will continue to occur within the Underground Parkade, consistent with the current evening, weekend, and holiday service.

Halifax Infirmary -> Victoria General -> Garrison Grounds -> Halifax Infirmary

Average Loop Time: 10-20 minutes

Monday to Friday, 8:30 pm - 5:30 am

Halifax Infirmary -> Victoria General -> Halifax Infirmary

Average Loop Time: Approx. 10 minutes

Pick-up and Drop-off Locations

Halifax Infirmary (HI)

  • Summer Street (Monday–Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
    Pickup/drop-off only for the Garrison Grounds route. The shuttle will not wait at this location.

  • Abbie J. Lane (AJL) (Monday–Friday until 4:30 p.m.)
    Passenger pickup location and transport of supplies between the Halifax Infirmary and Victoria General.

  • Underground Parkade (Monday–Friday after 4:30 p.m., and all day on weekends and holidays)
    Pickup and drop-off location for all Halifax Infirmary evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shuttle service.

 

Victoria General (VG)

  • MacKenzie Building (front entrance)

 

Garrison Grounds

  • Designated shuttle stop (Monday–Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.)

Note: Unfortunately, the shuttle bus is not wheelchair accessible.
