The lot will be unavailable for staff parking June 22-30 to accommodate the Halifax Music Fest, a pre-existing scheduled event. Alternative arrangements and closure information are below.  

Garrison Grounds Parking Closures: 

• Monday, June 22 (Partial Closure) 

• Tuesday, June 23 – Monday, June 29 (Full Closure) 

• Tuesday, June 30 (Partial Closure)  

A minimum of 80 spaces will remain available for first-come, first-served staff parking at Garrison Grounds during partial closure dates.

Scotia Square Parking and Shuttle Service

FREE PARKING will be available to QEII Staff at the Scotia Square Parkade. on the following dates: 

• Monday, June 22 

• Tuesday, June 23  

• Wednesday, June 24 

• Thursday, June 25 

• Friday, June 26 

• Monday, June 29 

• Tuesday, June 30 

Staff who park at Scotia Square during these closure days will be provided with a complimentary shuttle to and from Scotia Square to the HI and VG. 

 

Scotia Square Parking Process  

How to Access: 

• Enter the Scotia Square parkade at 5201 Albemarle St., Halifax, and take a ticket at the entry gate. 

• Park in any available spot. ​

Shuttle Service Schedule: 

• Morning shuttle service will run from 5:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. from Lawtons Drugs on Duke Street. It will operate in 20-minute intervals (traffic dependent). 

• Service will be suspended from 10:00 a.m. -10:30 a.m. each morning. 

• The shuttle will run again from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and will operate as passengers arrive (on Duke Street). 

• Service will be suspended from 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. each afternoon. 

• Afternoon shuttle service will run from 2:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. from the Summer Street entrance of the HI and McKenzie Building on University Avenue, returning to Lawtons Drugs. It will operate in 20-minute intervals (traffic dependent). 

How to Exit: 

• When you get on the shuttle in the morning, the shuttle driver will provide a rebate ticket for exiting the parkade. 

• If you don’t use the shuttle, the rebate ticket will be available for pick up 24/7 at the Summer Street Parkade Parking Office (Level 3) 

• When leaving the Scotia Square parkade, scan your rebate ticket at the exit station to open the gate (you do not need to scan the ticket you pulled when entering the parkade).  If there are any issues, please press the help button for assistance.
